Instead the fact that I'm not a acoustic instruments recording expert, this is my favourite microphone. I record a lot of vocal track and I used a lot of different mics (further reviews) and at my opinion, this is the most versatile. It works on both male and female vocals without colouring too much. The dynamic response is excellent in the low, mid or high frequency range. It also works great on acoustic guitar, toms and snare drum. The MD-441 is also very reliable as mine was produced in the early 70's and still sounds perfect. The output signal is relatively low so this mic must be used with a preamp in order to adjust the gain. The only down point is the price as it will cost about 1000$ new. For anyone serious about his production quality and who wants to own only one microphone, this is the way to go...
